Sony batteries involved in another recall

More than two years after the largest battery recall, the electronics industry, the Sony batteries were again, as the defendant in more than 40 incidents in the world of laptop overheating.

Sony and the Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday afternoon that Sony supports the withdrawal of 100,000 laptop batteries made by Sony 2.15Ah lithium-ion cells. Five thousands of them were sold in the U.S., and 65,000 in international markets. Sony has said that he had 260 million of these batteries since 2002.

According to the CPSC, 32000 Hewlett-Packard laptop, 3000 Toshiba notebooks, laptops from Dell and 150 are to be said. Sony said its Vaio notebooks are not included in the recall since it covers a different type of battery.
